Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

StatementIQ is operated for users in India and globally who upload bank statements and financial documents for analysis. For privacy questions, contact contact@statementiq.in.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email address, organization name (B2B), password hash (if you use email signup), and account preferences.
• Social login: if you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email, and a provider user id from that provider. We do not receive your social network password.
• Uploaded content: bank statements (PDF/Excel/CSV), related financial documents, and metadata you choose to upload.
• Derived analytics: parsed transactions, categories, risk signals, reports, chat history related to your statements, and usage events needed to operate the product.
• Billing data: plan, credits, and payment references from our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers on our servers).
• Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, and basic logs for security and reliability.

3. How we use information

• Provide account access, statement parsing, analytics, AI chat, and PDF reports.
• Authenticate you via email/password or Google / Facebook OAuth.
• Process payments, enforce plan limits, and prevent abuse or fraud.
• Improve product reliability, parsers, and security (including aggregated / anonymized insights where feasible).
• Respond to support requests and legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data or bank statement contents to third-party advertisers.

4. Legal basis / consent

By creating an account or uploading documents, you confirm you have lawful rights to the data you submit and authorize us to process it to provide the service. Organizational (B2B) customers are responsible for obtaining any required consent from their end customers where applicable.

5. Retention and deletion

• Pay-per-sheet / consumer statement data is generally retained up to 30 days and then purged according to configured retention settings.
• B2B organization data is retained while the account is active and as needed for billing or legal records.
• You may request account deletion from Account settings or by emailing contact@statementiq.in. We will delete or anonymize personal data except where we must keep limited records (e.g. invoices, fraud prevention, legal compliance).

6. Sharing and processors

We may share data only with:

• Infrastructure and hosting providers that run the application and databases.
• Payment providers (e.g. Razorpay) to process charges.
• Identity providers (Google, Meta/Facebook) solely to complete social login.
• Optional AI providers when cloud LLM features are enabled by configuration (otherwise local/rules-based processing may be used).
• Authorities when required by applicable law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please protect your login credentials and only upload documents you are authorized to process.

8. Cookies and similar tech

We use essential storage (such as local session tokens) to keep you signed in and operate the product. We do not use third-party advertising cookies for selling your data.

9. Your rights

• Access or update profile details in Account settings.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• Withdraw social login by disconnecting the provider and/or deleting your account.
• Contact us to ask what data we hold about you, subject to identity verification.

10. Children

StatementIQ is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date below will change when we do. Continued use of the service after updates means you accept the revised policy.
